YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA — One of the benefits of the borough's annual Harvest Day event is that it gives back to the community.
The annual community event, which takes place on Saturday, draws thousands to the borough for its festival of fall.
But it also generates proceeds that are given back to the community.
Each year, Yardley Harvest Day awards charitable donations from the previous years' proceeds to local non-profit organizations.
"Supporting the community is the primary reason we hold the festival every year," said Rich Wayne, Harvest Day chairman and president of the Yardley Business Association.
This past year's awards totaled $21,500.
