Bad Storms, Flooding Possible Monday Afternoon In Eastern PA: NWS

A flash flood watch is in place in Eastern Pennsylvania through Monday night, as strong thunderstorms are expected to head to the region. The National Weather Service has also issued a hazardous weather outlook, saying the storms could come with damaging wind gusts.

The flash flood watch is in place in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties from noon through midnight. In the Philly area, the storms are expected to start about 3 p.m.

"Damaging wind gusts and hail are the primary concerns, although an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. This may include swaths of concentrated wind damage in the Northeast that lead to tree damage and power outages. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding in some areas," the Weather Channel said.

Thing should clear up by Tuesday afternoon.

Today: Isolated showers between 10am and 3pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a chance of showers. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Low around 68. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 8 to 11 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 6 to 8 mph.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
