Bucks Co. Pediatric Assistant Had 56K Child Porn Images: Feds

A man who worked as a medical assistant at a Bucks Co. pediatrician's office had a huge collection of child porn, federal prosecutors said.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A medical assistant who worked for a Bucks County pediatrician has admitted to trafficking child pornography and possessing more than 56,000 images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, authorities said this week.

Cameron Carlucci, 27, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Tuesday.

According to federal prosecutors, Carlucci worked as a medical technician at Valley Pediatrics in Warminster, a job he attained by falsifying his application. In his application, he denied he had a criminal history after being convicted in 2011 on charges of possession of obscene materials.

Prosecutors say their investigation showed Carlucci trafficked in child porn from 2015 through his arrest in 2018. During that time, they say, he amassed a stockpile of more than 56,000 images and videos showing mostly prepubescent boys, infants and toddlers being sexually abused and exploited.

"Carlucci's years of taking advantage of our community's most vulnerable victims is reprehensible, but it is intensified by the fact that he had daily contact with children in a job he never should have had in the first place," said U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain. "Child exploitation is a pervasive problem – one that demands an aggressive response. We stand ready with our federal partners to identify and dismantle online forums that perpetuate this abuse."

FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael T. Harpster called child exploitation cases "among the most disturbing the FBI works."

"We're gratified to help take Cameron Carlucci off the street," Harpster said. "Not only was he heavily involved with child pornography, but he purposely hid his criminal past to gain employment that allowed him daily interaction with children. If child predators can't or won't keep themselves away from kids, the FBI stands ready to step in and shut them down."

He faces a maximum of 60 years in prison, plus up to a lifetime under supervision, and a $750,000 fine.
