Singer-Songwriter Clover Stieve Celebrates Debut Album Born to Live with New Hope Release Show October 9

NEW HOPE, PA — Singer-songwriter Clover Stieve will celebrate the release of her debut full-length album, Born to Live, with a special album release show at New Hope Arts on Friday, October 9.

A native of the Delaware River community with roots in Frenchtown, New Jersey, and Brooklyn, New York, Stieve released Born to Live on September 25. The independently produced album blends confessional singer-songwriter storytelling with elements of indie pop, folk, rock, and R&B.

The album was recorded and produced by Stieve and her husband, musician and photographer Dani Sundream, in their home studio, with mastering and mentorship by Andrew Maury, whose credits include Madi Diaz, Shawn Mendes, and Victoria Canal.

At the heart of Born to Live is Stieve’s exploration of grief and the possibility of making room for joy alongside it.

At age 26, Stieve lost both of her parents within two months. Songwriting became an important way of processing the grief that followed. Several years later, a question from her therapist - whether she could try writing from a place of joy rather than despair - inspired the song “How Big Can I Dream” and ultimately helped shape the direction of the album.

“Something shifted,” Stieve said. “I realized that making space for joy didn't diminish my grief or mean I was leaving my parents behind. It gave me permission to experience something beyond the pain.”

Rather than presenting grief as something to overcome, Born to Live explores what it means to carry loss while remaining open to love, beauty, connection, anger, hope, and the experience of being fully alive.

Stieve’s music draws from folk, indie rock, pop, and soul, with influences that include Sara Bareilles, Maggie Rogers, Brandi Carlile, and Carole King. She has performed at venues including SteelStacks, Ardmore Music Hall, Sellersville Theater, The Colony Woodstock, Bearsville Theater, and City Winery.

In 2025, Stieve released her debut EP, Atlas, recorded at Electric Lady Studios with producer John Rooney, whose credits include Yebba, Clairo, and Kacey Musgraves.

Under the Radar described Stieve’s music as a “lush and melodic combination of folk, indie pop, and soul,” highlighting her warm vocals and inviting grooves.
