On Saturday, November 14th at 1:00 PM (rain or shine), the Township will hold its 20th Annual Veterans Parade and Commemorative Ceremony along Edgewood Road, culminating at the Veterans Square Monument, 1660 Edgewood Rd., Yardley, PA. The parade will feature American Legion and VFW organizations, military vehicles, fire trucks from local companies, music including the Pennsbury Marching Band, also known as Long Orange Line, scout troops, Belgium horses, and new this year, Bristol Township School District: Drummers with Attitude directed by Kevin Travers.

A special highlight this year will be a C-17 Globemaster III flyover from the 732d Airlift Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, scheduled around 2:00 p.m., just before the ceremony at Veterans Square to celebrate our 20th Anniversary of our Veterans Parade.

The commemorative ceremony will honor the 2026 Parade Marshal, Jonathan (Jon) Pfender. Musical performances will feature the Pennsbury Community Choir. Hospitality tables at Veterans Square will offer information from various organizations, including the Veterans Multi-Service Center, Pennsbury Education Association, Salute2Service, and Raising Cane’s.

McCaffery’s and Lower Makefield Township will be offering complimentary drinks and snacks for all.

In addition, the Pennsbury Education Association, in partnership with Lower Makefield Township Parks & Recreation, will be collecting supplies for homeless veterans. Attendees are encouraged to bring items listed on www.lmt.org to benefit homeless veterans through The Perimeter Program of the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center (www.vmcenter.org). Sending a donation can also be made via QR code, available on the Township’s website, and ship the items directly to the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center.

Veterans Square Foundation, creators of the Veterans Square Monument, reminds residents that any veteran or active-duty military member who has lived in Lower Makefield or Yardley can have their name added to the Veterans Square Wall of Honor at no charge. To submit a name, email kkraeck@live.com or call 267-391-6320. Donations to support the monument can be made by purchasing a Freedom Paver or contributing via the Foundation’s website: www.VeteransSquare.org.

A special thank you to our sponsors – McCaffrey’s, Wegmans, New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, and Raising Canes. Donations have been provided by Shoprite of Yardley, Cramer’s Bakery, Yardley Bagel, and McCaffrey’s.

We invite everyone to join us November 14th as we honor those who make freedom possible for all!
