Fire Knocked Down At Lower Makefield Supermarket

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company responded to a fire Wednesday morning at the Giant Food Store.

The fire company and numerous mutual aid companies responded to the supermarket on Stony Hill Road at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday for a reported building fire.

Fire crews extinguished a freezer element in the frozen food isle of the store.

Firefighters also secured power and removed smoke from the building.

The Bucks County Department of Health was also called in to respond since the incident occurred where food is sold.

Meanwhile, the fire company also handled a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Big Oak and Stony Hill roads.

It was unknown whether there were any injuries.
