Forecasters Offer More Details On Possible Weekend Snow In PA
Forecasters have released additional details about a potential storm that could bring the season's first snow by the end of the week.

Forecasters have released additional details about a potential storm that could bring the season's first snow to Eastern Pennsylvania by the end of this week. A storm moving northward could track close enough to the coast to bring snow along the I-95 corridor from Friday into Saturday, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.
The National Weather Service predicts the greatest chance for snow is between 7 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday.
There are two possible scenarios:

The first involves a storm that tracks close to the coast and gains just a moderate amount of strength. In that case, a small amount of accumulating snow could fall in the region, from New York City to as far to the south as Philadelphia, AccWeather said.
The second scenario, which is less likely, involves a coastal storm that merges with another weak storm dropping in from the Midwest to create one "major" storm.

"In that merge scenario, heavy snow would fall north and west of the major I-95 cities with rain along the coast and a wintry mix in between. Significant travel disruptions would ensue," AccWeather said, saying that while that scenario is possible, it is less likely.
The severity of the storm also depends on how cold it remains.
Weekend temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s at night, and hover just above freezing during the day.
