Homeowner Bilked Of $60K In Yardley: Police
Yardley Borough Police said a suspect from Levittown defrauded a borough homeowner of nearly $60,000. The suspect was arrested Tuesday.
YARDLEY, PA —A 38-year-old Levittown resident has been charged with deceptive business practices for bilking a borough resident out of nearly $60,000, police said.
Yardley Borough Police said that a search warrant led to the arrest Tuesday of the suspect, whom police did not name, for a crime that began last September.
The man was charged with deceptive business practices, a felony, and theft by deception, another felony, Police Chief Joseph Kelly III said.

The chief said that Yardley Borough Police began an investigation in September of contractor fraud, in which a homeowner reportedly paid $59,200 for home repairs, which were only half completed.
The home in the 40 block of Letchworth Avenue suffered heavy water damage resulting in two internal ceiling collapses and illness to an occupant.

Search warrants and other evidence led to probable cause to support an arrest warrant, the chief said.
With the assistance of Falls Township police officers, the suspect was arrested, processed, and released on bail. The matter is pending a preliminary hearing in District Court.
