Keith Valley MS Wins Music Award

The award honors schools for outstanding achievement in music education and access.

HORSHAM, PA — Keith Valley Middle School in Horsham has been honored with an award celebrating its commitment to music education.

Keith Valley was granted the SupportMusic Merit Award from the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Foundation.

The award recognizes schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

To qualify for the award, Keith Valley Middle School’s music educators Mindy Rubinlicht, Meghan May, Jim Verdeur and Erin Antioquia participated in a detailed survey of questions about funding and graduation requirements and underwent observation of music classes, instruction time, facilities and support for the school's music-making programs.

Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by the The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Nationwide, 98 schools were awarded the honor this year, according to NAMM. Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Eden Hall Upper Elementary School in Gibsonia and Propel East K-8 in Turtle Creek were the other Pennsylvania schools to make the list.
