Pennsbury Schools On 2-Hour Delay Friday

YARDLEY, PA — Pennsbury schools and district offices will open on a two-hour delay Friday due to overnight snow and road conditions, according to district officials.
The district made the announcement in an email and phone calls to parents early Friday morning.

An even more significant storm system was forecast to hit the area Saturday and Sunday, with snow, mixed precipitation and heavy rain possible. Snow Saturday afternoon is expected to change to heavy rain Saturday night.
A period of freezing rain and sleet also is possible during the transition, according to the NWS. Rain is forecast to come to an end by late Sunday as a strong cold front moves through the area, leading to a quick refreezing of wet and slushy surfaces causing very icy conditions.

Dangerous wind chills also are in the forecast for Sunday night through Tuesday.
