Rolex Watch Scam, Marijuana Arrests: Lower Makefield Crimes

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for this past week.

These are the criminal incidents:

Aug. 12

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Plaza Boulevard and West Trenton Avenue, reported at 1:47 a.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A further investigation led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. The 21-year-old male driver from Trenton, N.J. was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

RETAIL THEFTS:

• 500 block of West Trenton Avenue at CVS, reported at 9:13 a.m. Police responded to the report of a retail theft in progress. The suspect had fled the store on foot after taking $44.97 worth of razors. Police were able to locate the suspect on West Trenton Avenue. The 34-year-old man from Trenton, N.J. was taken into police custody. He will be summonsed for Retail Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

• 900 block of Taylor Lane at CVS reported at 5:14 p.m. An employee reported on August 8 that two women had entered the store and removed $6,600 worth of beauty products without paying. An investigation is ongoing.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT — Unit block of Taylorsville Road, reported at 4:54 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of their 2015 Chevrolet Corvette from their driveway sometime around 2 a.m. An investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 11

FRAUD — 800 block of Duchess Drive, reported at 2:03 p.m. Th complainant reported a breach of their checking account where someone changed their address, phone number, and email address and transferred $5,000 to another bank account in Ohio.

Aug. 10

FRAUD — 600 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 1:42 p.m. The complainant reported posting a Rolex watch on eBay for $7,000. An interested buyer advised the victim that they would send the money to an eBay escrow account for later distribution. The victim realized after mailing the watch that this was a scam. An investigation ongoing.

RETAIL THEFT — 1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 3:30 p.m. A store manager reported a woman had entered the store and was being followed by Loss Prevention as she had stolen $128.86 worth of merchandise from the store on July 11 and 12. The thefts were captured on surveillance which was reviewed by police. The 38-year-old woman from Morrisville was told that she would be cited for the two previous retail thefts.

SOLICITING WITHOUT PERMIT — Unit block of Brook Lane, reported at 6:40 p.m. The complainant reported a solicitor for EMT Solar and Roofing was soliciting without a permit. A records check revealed the 29-year-old man from Dallas, TX, had a nonextraditable warrant out of Arkansas for traffic offenses. He was cited for Soliciting Without a Permit.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — 500 block of West Trenton Avenue, reported at 11:31 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A Further investigation led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. The 26-year-old male driver from Trenton, N.J., was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

Aug. 9

RETAIL THEFTS:

• 1600 block of Big Oak Rd. at Shop Rite reported at 12:40PM. Loss Prevention reported a retail theft not in progress by an unknown man and woman. On this date, they removed $111.61 worth of merchandise without paying and a total pf $201.66 across other various dates. Investigation ongoing.

• 1600 block of Big Oak Rd. at Shop Rite reported at 4:01PM. Loss Prevention detained a 60-year-old woman from Bensalem for concealing $60.96 worth of chicken and corn in her purse but paying for other items. She was taken into police custody. A non-traffic citation was filed.
