Stony Hill Road Culvert Replaced Ahead Of Schedule
PennDOT said the culvert replacement was expected to last four months in Lower Makefield Township. But work was completed a month earlier.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The replacement of the Stony Hill Road culvert —a project that PennDOT said would take four months —has been completed ahead of schedule.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said it has reopened a section of Stony Hill Road following the completion of a culvert replacement over the branch of Brock Creek, as part of a project to replace four structures in Bucks County and maintain safe and efficient crossings for the traveling public.
Built in 1926, the Stony Hill Road culvert carries an average of 8,055 vehicles per day.

PennDOT originally announced the project would start on May 15 and be completed by Sept. 15.
Stony Hill Road was closed between Oxford Valley Road and Judith Place.

Other structures completed in this $3.8 million culvert replacement project include:
- Aquetong Road over a Branch of Aquetong Creek in Solebury Township.
- Deerwood Lane over Kimples Creek in Haycock Township.
- Cherry Road over Branch of Tohickon Creek in Richland Township.
C. Abbonizio Contractors, Inc., of Sewell, N.J., was the general contractor on this culvert replacement project. Work was financed with 100 percent state funds.
