Built in 1851, the original structure on the site still stands as the back of the current building. Over the years, it has served as a meeting place for "The Sons of Temperance," was used as a private school and, in 1872, became one of the first Odd Fellows halls in the nation.
The center was expanded in 1878 to allow for church services, fire company suppers, theater productions and other events. In the 1930s, it became the Cob-Web Theatre and it was purchased by the nonprofit Yardley Community Centre Association in 1940.
