7K Local Food Benefit Cards Available for Eligible Rhode Island Seniors

The cards are to purchase Rhode Island-grown fruit and vegetables and local honey

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will distribute nearly 7,000 benefit cards to eligible seniors

The cards are for purchasing fresh, Rhode Island-grown fruit and vegetables and local honey.

The cards, preloaded with $50, will be distributed from more than 50 senior centers and other locations throughout the state and are valid through Nov. 30.
