Popular RI Snack Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

This nationwide recall of certain potato chips impacts those sold at major Rhode Island retailers.

| Updated

A voluntary recall of several popular potato chip varieties is affecting products sold across Rhode Island, according to an announcement from Utz Quality Foods.

The recall includes select flavors of Zapp’s and Dirty brand potato chips due to a potential risk of Salmonella contamination linked to a seasoning ingredient supplied by a third party. While the seasoning tested negative before use, the company said it is acting out of an abundance of caution.
