Rhode Island ranked high when it comes to truck safety, according to a recent study.
Rhode Island placed seventh in the study conducted by the researchers at the Mendoza Law Firm.
The study examined fatal large-truck crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and employment and wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to rank all 50 states on a composite Trucking Hardship Score, according to a media release.
Rhode Island finished a spot ahead of Illinois and one behind Massachusetts.
New Jersey was the safest state for truckers, the study determined, followed by Washington and New York.
New Mexico was the most dangerous, the study revealed.
