Rhode Island's Fatal Accident Rate Involving Young Children Lowest In US: Study

Rhode Island's rate of fatal accidents involving children younger than 10 was the lowest in the nation, a recent study revealed.

Only 1.11 child under 10 was killed per 100,000 children in the same age range, according to the study conducted by Barcus Arenas PLLC.

By Contrast, Wyoming, the state with the highest rate, had 18.49 per child deaths per 100,000.

Thde study examined data from 2020 to 2024.

Wyoming was followed by Mississippi and South Carolina for the states with the highest rates.

The states with the lowest rates after Rhode Island were Massachusetts and New York.

Six of the 10 lowest-rated states were in the Northeast, with Connecticut, New Jersey and Vermont.
