Charlestown Man Charged With Murder After Stabbing Woman: State Police
Alex Rolin, 25, was charged with murder after Rhode Island State Police said he stabbed a 45-year-old woman he lived with.

CHARLESTOWN, RI — A Charlestown man was arrested Monday after Rhode Island State Police said he fatally stabbed a woman.
Alex Rolin, 25, was charged with murder in connection to the death of Grya Pihlkrantz, 45, of Charlestown. Both Rolin and Pihlkrantz shared the same address on Biscuit City Road, but State Police did not specify the relationship between them.
Around 10 a.m., Charlestown police received a 911 call about a disturbance at the Biscuit City Road home. Emergency officials found Pihlkrantz with a stab wound to the chest. She was taken to South County Hospital in South Kingstown, where she was pronounced dead.

State Police said they were then called to the scene and had their detective bureau respond. Following their investigation, Rolin was arrested.
Rolin was scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Court on Tuesday.
