Fire In Foster May Have Been Arson: Police

The home sustained smoke and heat damage, but a barn in the backyard was destroyed.

FOSTER, RI — A house fire in Foster Friday is being investigated as a possible arson, according to police.

Fire officials said emergency crews were called to the 20th block of Johnson Road around 8:30 a.m. The home sustained smoke and heat damage, but a barn in the backyard was destroyed.

No injuries were reported.

WPRI 12 reported seeing a man at the scene being taken away in handcuffs. Patch called police, who would only confirm the fire is being investigated as an arson.
