Here's everything you need to know about the big storm including snow accumulation estimates, timing and when to expect the heaviest snow.

The major winter storm sweeping across more than half of the country, including Rhode Island, continues to be pretty consistent with its snow accumulation estimates.

On Sunday morning, snow estimates increased slightly on the high end as now 12 to 20 inches of snow is possible in parts of Rhode Island, according to the National Weather Service. Southern areas may see less snow accumulation as sleet mixes in.

The winter storm warning remains in effect from 7 a.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Monday.

Most schools in Rhode Island have announced closures for Monday, and warming centers have opened across the state.

A majority of flights out of Rhode Island's T.F. Green International Airport in Warwick were cancelled on Sunday. The airport temporarily suspended all operations due to weather, according to WJAR.

T.F. Green announced that both runways were closed due to "extremely poor visibility, snowfall rates, and accumulation," the news outlet reported.
