Relief From Heat Finally Here For Rhode Island

Temperatures this weekend will warm up a little, but not even close to the levels they were during the heatwave.

Relief from the heat has finally arrived for Rhode Island. After an oppressive heat wave that had heat indices in the triple digits and temperatures in the mid nineties for much of the week, high temperatures are in the seventies Friday.

Notable high temperatures include Providence at 76 degrees, Newport at 74 degrees, and Coventry at 75 degrees. Humidity is also much lower throughout the state. In Providence, humidity is 63 percent.

Temperatures this weekend will warm up a little, but not even close to the levels they were during the heatwave. According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will be 81 degrees in Providence and 83 degrees on Sunday.

Sunday brings the highest chance of rain of the whole weekend, but it's still only a 20 percent chance.

Expect it to start getting hot again on Labor Day. The high for Providence is 89 degrees with 71 percent humidity.
