Rhode Island Ranked Among Most "Luxurious" States In America: Study

Rhode Island ranked among the most "luxurious" states in America in a recent study.

The study, conducted by the researchers at BestWallClock, an Italian company specializing in oversized decorative wall clocks inspired by luxury wristwatches, compared the 48 states " across nine measures of wealth and luxury amenities," according to a media release.

Those measures included the average price of a luxury home, AAA Five- and Four-Diamond restaurants per 100,000 residents, the number of designer or high-end stores per 100,000, and the number of country clubs and private golf courses per 100,000.

Rhode Island placed fifth.

The Ocean State has a "higher concentration of AAA Four- and Five-Diamond restaurants than either California or New York," the release pointed out.

The four states ahead of Rhode Island were Nevada, California, New York and Massachusetts.

The least luxurious state was Mississippi, with Iowa and Arkansas in the 46th and 47th spots.
