RI Man Hit By Pickup Truck In MA, Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries
Massachusetts State Police said the man ran out of gas on the highway before he was struck by a pickup truck.
WEST GREENWICH, RI — A West Greenwich man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a pickup truck on I-95 in Andover, Massachusetts, Tuesday morning.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. and found the man in the left lane of the Route 28 ramp.
At first, the man was conscious, telling police he had run out of gas, before he was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

State Police said his car was parked in the breakdown lane a little further south from the crash, and as of 8:30 a.m., the man remained in critical condition. His name has not yet been released.
State Police said the truck driver remained at the scene and tried to help.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
