RI U.S. Senator Is Officially Seeking Re-Election
Sheldon Whitehouse has garnered a reputation for being a progressive, bipartisan legislator whose focuses include affordable healthcare.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island's U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, 68, is officially seeking re-election, he announced in a campaign video Thursday.
Sheldon served as Rhode Island’s U.S. Attorney and state attorney general before being elected to the Senate in 2006.
He has since garnered a reputation for being a progressive, bipartisan legislator whose focuses include overhauling federal education policy, rebuilding infrastructure, reforming the criminal and juvenile justice systems, healthcare affordability, environmental issues, and addiction.

"Nobody in their right mind could possibly believe that the American Healthcare System couldn't be made a lot more efficient," Whitehouse's team said, in part, in the campaign video. "It is literally life and death for millions of older Americans standing up to corporate greed."
