String Of Armed Robberies Reported In Several RI Towns: Reports

Robberies have been reported at smoke shops in Central Falls, Pawtucket, Providence, and Cranston this week, reports say.

RHODE ISLAND — A string of robberies, some reportedly armed, have taken place in smoke shops in at least four Rhode Island communities in just a matter of days, according to multiple outlets including WJAR and WPRI.

Three men in their early to mid-20s with thin builds and of average height are believed to be responsible for Monday night robberies at Convenience R Us on Lonsdale Avenue in Central Falls, M&R Convenience Store on Pawtucket Avenue in Pawtucket, and Lucky Lottery & Smoke Shop on Route 1 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, police told WPRI.

Just after midnight Tuesday, an armed robbery was reported at Quality Fuel on Smithfield Avenue in Providence, and that night, there was another armed robbery at the Food and Fuel in Cranston, police disk, according to the outlet.

Police haven't confirmed which of these robberies are connected but said a description of the Cranston suspect matches that of the man wanted for the robberies in Pawtucket and Providence, WPRI reported.

All five stores captured the robberies on security cameras, according to WJAR.
