Thunderstorms, Hail Expected To Sweep Into Rhode Island

Hazardous weather, including flooding and hail, are on the horizon as we head into the weekend, but things should clear up by Father's Day.

RHODE ISLAND — Thursday started off on the cooler side. The day was comfortable, full of sunshine with a light breeze, but clouds eventually will come in and bring a chance of rain late Thursday night, according to Accuweather.

Most of Thursday night will be dry until about midnight, when there will be a high chance of showers and thunderstorms that will likely not let up until Friday night.

A heavy storm coming from the west, mixed with a cold front crossing on Friday, will bring the potential for thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Some storms may become strong to severe, with the potential for locally damaging wind gusts and isolated large hail.
