Amaral Delays Liquor Store Opening
Matt Amaral, owner of Grapes & Grains, had planned to open his liquor store this weekend, but the beer cooler is not completed.

Matt Amaral, who planned to open Barrington’s second liquor store, Grapes & Grains, this weekend, is taking a few more days to open his store on Bosworth Street.
Amaral had said in a previous Patch story that he would open by March 10.

“I don’t want customers knocking on the door and not finding anyone home,” he said.

“Our delay is that our beer refrigerator is not completed and I do not want to open without it in place,” said Amaral on Monday afternoon. “ It is important for us to have this piece of equipment in place, in operation chilling our ales."
“Some of the interior work cannot be finished until the refrigerator is in,” he said. “So, with that said, we need more time.”
The store will open this month for sure, he said. It could even open by March 16 if everything goes as planned.
“It is the goal of the G&G team to have as much in place before we open so that we are ready to receive Barrington and surrounding communities in to our showroom,” Amaral said. “We are very excited that we are close.”
Amaral said his wife, Luciana, told him Monday morning: “Matt, you are so much closer today than you were back on August 1st, the night of your first presentation to the council. What’s a few more days?”
“You know what?” he said. “She’s right.”
