Today's riddle: Why was the scarecrow given an award? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• I3 Broadband Fiber in Bristol: Streets and T-Mobile Deal (upriseri.com) — New underground fiber is being installed on several Bristol streets, but filings confirm i3 Broadband's service area also includes Barrington and Warren, with a pending ownership deal involving T-Mobile. Barrington households may see faster options without immediate rate changes, though regulators have just approved a transfer of control and future pricing will depend on the new joint venture's decisions.
• What's the most expensive property sold in RI? Oct. 3 real estate transactions (providencejournal.com) — Recent Rhode Island property records show a Barrington seller transferring 25 Appian Way for $1.3 million, offering a snapshot of local home values alongside some of the state's priciest sales. If you're watching the Barrington market, this transaction helps benchmark what well-situated properties are currently commanding compared with luxury deals in Jamestown and Newport.
• Late field goal propels URI past Brown in Governor's Cup, 13-10 (turnto10.com) — A Barrington native, quarterback Alex McClelland, helped spark URI's late comeback drive that set up the game-winning field goal over Brown in the Governor's Cup. Local fans may recognize his name as he led key passes and a rushing touchdown in a tight, defense-heavy matchup at Pawtucket's Centreville Bank Stadium.
