• It is a five-star day for Barrington Public Schools (eastbayri.com) — Barrington families can celebrate strong new state ratings, with all six public schools earning four or five stars and four schools achieving top five-star status. Local students posted some of Rhode Island's highest test scores, especially in English and SAT math, and multilingual learners made notable gains. District leaders will present a deeper results review to the School Committee in November.
   

• Community rallying around father of four awaiting heart transplant (newsnationnow.com) — Residents in Barrington, Bristol, and Warren are rallying around former Barrington firefighter and EMT Bobby Larisa, who is hospitalized awaiting a heart transplant. Friends have launched an online fundraiser and planned a Nov. 7 benefit in Warren to help his family manage medical and living expenses during his long recovery. Organizers hope to mirror the community support once led by his late stepfather, a well-known local business owner.
