The Pee Wee offense came alive Saturday, posting its highest score of the season in an exciting back and forth battle before losing to the Sakonnet Schooners, 34-20. Â
Barrington moved the football on the ground and in the air beautifully. Running Backs Seth Mitchell and Noah Werbel had some excellent sweeps for solid gains. Werbel was clutch all game, also stepping in at Quarterback for several series and muscling in a touchdown on a solid wedge drive behind the impenetrable blocking of Timmy Hoag, Robert Cahill, Nick Figueroa, Meredith Kaplan, Jack Kovolyan and Oliver Roberts. Fullback Kyle Greenberg continued to be a beast on the ground, consistently fighting for first downs and breaking tackles to ultimately deliver an awesome 61-yard touchdown run. As always, Tailback Foster Egan was a workhorse, smashing through the Schooner defense to put the Eagles in scoring position multiple times. Powerful Fullback Jon Adamson showed he has great hands as well, with a huge 45-yard reception/run, plus another touchdown reception from Quarterback Will Rywolt. Center Hunter Norris played an outstanding game, and made a fantastic long snap on a two-point conversion nailed by Kicker Chase White.
The Defense had their hands full with Sakonnet, which usually scores over 30 points per game. Linebackers Martin Agustin and Ben Silva worked hard to contain the Schooner passing attack. Tackles Matthew Bowman, Jack Kelleher, Harry Masse, Zach Pacheco and Sergio DaSilva delivered solid defense against the run.  Injured Center Owen Valentine helped the coaches manage the sidelines during the game.
