Barrington Seeks Seasonal Lifeguards, Camp Counselor

BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington is looking for part-time lifeguards and a camp counselor for its summer programs. The lifeguards are wanted for Burlingame State Park.

This position is involved with the planning and implementation of thenday camp programs, including but not limited to games, sports, arts and crafts, music, activities, field trips and special events.This position is also responsible for direct supervision of children between age 5 and 12 as well as strict adherence to camp programming and protocol.

The lifeguard spots are part-time and pay $12.75 per hour. Lifeguard surf certification is available and must be completed prior to employment.

All lifeguard candidates must be at least 15 years of age and must present a photo ID with verification of date of birth each time they apply for certification. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign the waiver form or must obtain a waiver from the Division of Parks and Recreation ahead of time to be signed and notarized, in order to take the test.

All candidates must have successfully completed courses and hold valid cards in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR which includes adults, infants, and children.
