BHS Boys Move on to RI Round of 8
Barrington High School's boys' basketball team takes on North Kingstown Sunday after defeating Mt. Pleasant on Thursday night.
On to the round of eight in the Rhode Island boys' basketball open state tournament.
The Barrington High boys' basketball team won a thriller, 42-40, against Mt. Pleasant Thursday night to advance to the round of 8 in the Open State Championship.
Coach Patrick Sullivan's squad will play fourth-seeded North Kingstown on Sunday, March 3, starting at 11:30 am at Providence College, said George Finn, athletics director.

The Eagles played Division I NK in the annual Booster Tourney over the holidays, scoring their lowest number of points on the season in the 53-29 loss Sullivan described as the team's worst shooting game of the season.
Sullivan said then that North Kingstown is a very good Division I team, but not 29 points better than the Eagles.

Here is the updated playoff schedule, said Finn, including a girls' ice hockey game tonight -- the first game in the semi-final series against Cranston Co-op at Portsmouth Abbey -- and a second game in Cranston on Saturday.
The girls' basketball team also plays this weekend. Coach Stephen Lenz's squad takes on Smithfield in a quarterfinal game of the Division I tourney at Rhode Island College.
The indoor track team also travels to Boston for the New England championships on Saturday, according to Finn.
