Young Jenny learned from her grandfather how to button her buttons, write her name and create the most delicious lasagna in all of Boston.  When he is suddenly gone from her life, she reflects on their relationship and seems to see him every time she turns the corner

Wells is best known, perhaps, for bringing beloved characters to life -- Here Comes Mother Goose, My Shining Star and, of course, the series of Max and Ruby books, two sibling bunnies, who have become stars of a television show on Nick, Jr.

Denise has illustrated many books, including Oliver Finds His Way by Phyllis Root, Knitty Kitty by David Elliot and several of the Redwall  books by Brian Jacques. He speaks often in schools across the state about writing and illustrating books with his wife, children's author Anika Denise.
