Bookstore Launches Book Today at Dusk

Barrington Books continues its 25th-year celebration today, Sept. 13, at dusk (7-8:30 pm) with a launch party for the new book “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern.

Not since “Harry Potter” or “Twilight” has a debut novel garnered this much buzz, according to the bookstore. Here’s a brief look.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

The Night Circus is described as “a seductive tale of two dueling love-struck magicians cast against the background of a fantastical circus. With rich, descriptive prose, Morgenstern conjures a world that is imaginative, visceral and utterly captivating.”

Customers can pick up a copy of the newly released novel and enjoy Tarot Card readings, raffles and refreshments. There also will be limited number of autographed copies on hand.
