Do You Know Something in Town That Needs to Be Fixed?

This is my first post of what I expect will be many. I have written and spoken for years on issues in government and the schools that need to be fixed. On money spent needlessly or poorly. On issues that are quietly swept under the rug.

I really don't speak that much and always keep it under 3 minutes but it must be effective; At last week's Town Council meeting I was asked to speak, but declined to which Jeff Brenner quipped, "I want it put into the record that Joel was offered an opportunity to speak But declined." Which was greeted by loud laughter In the room. ( By the way, good line Jeff. Well timed and delivered I wish I had thought of it.)

I fear I have a reputation in town. But I hope most people think what I say  is a force for good in the community. I want to think so. I love this town and I believe that bringing things up, respectfully, even if it is things people don't want to hear or that some want to keep secret is a good thing for Barrington.

I will post 3 times a week. If history is any guide,  I will say things that you don't want to hear, that may make you angry, but often needs to be said. Many people in town won't say things publicly that are controversial, for fear or retaliation or that it will hurt their social standing.

Well I have no social standing to lose. If you know something in Barrington that is just wrong, that just simply needs to be brought out in the open. If you know something that needs to be fixed. Email me. If I agree with you, or even if I don't but I feel it needs to be said,  I will bring it out and I will keep your name and your reputation secret and safe.

Maybe we can fix a few things. Maybe we can make Barrington better.  If not, I promise, at least, that this blog will be interesting reading.
