It's time for the Big Game... here are a few healthy recipes to try so you don't derail your January efforts for better health!

Slow and Steady for the Win!

Slow cooker Stuffed Pepper Soup

  • 1lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1tsp minced fresh garlic
  • 28oz can diced tomatoes with juice
  • 6oz tomato paste
  • 4 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 3 cups chopped green pepper
  • 2/3 cup uncooked rice
  • 1tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ground black pepper to taste

Preparation:
In a large skillet, cook turkey, onion and garlic over medium
heat until browned- Drain any juices and transfer mixture to a slow cooker. Add
remaining ingredients and stir gently to mix. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. Add
water to thin if necessary.
Makes 6 (2-cup servings)

Greek Yogurt Onion Dip (sour cream and yogurt are essentially the same but the yogurt is a much healthier option)

  • One packet low soduim onion dip mix
  • 16oz Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt

Preparation:
Mix packet into yogurt. Mix well.
Pair with baked potato
chips for a less greasy sour cream and onion dip subsitute.
