We Have to Make Choices
We all make choices every day that have consequences, small and big. Ultimately as human beings we all have the power to choose.
Choices. Every day we have the option to decide between coffee and tea, to show up just in time or be 30 minutes early and prepared, take the highway or the scenic back road, greet others with a scorn or smile, give a little extra to that someone in your life or put it off for another day.
There are easy choices, difficult choices, important choices, and choices that will have no impact on your life. When it comes to our health ,we are constantly confronted with similar choices.
The human brain will always opt for the path of least resistance. It’s within our ability to reprogram the choices we make that will ultimately affect our health.

There is no one reason why we make the choices we do, the reasons are complex and simple. We could simply be fatigued from a long day and that pizza at Piezoni’s is a much easier decision than a homemade pizza with vegetables. Our upbringing can lead to behaviors (whether you realize it or not) that can lead to lifelong behaviors, positive and negative. Your options may simply be limited, that cafeteria never did carry fresh fruit so that cookie looks all the more appetizing.
If the examples above sound familiar and you truly do want to live a healthier life, remember you have the ability (not the skill yet) to choose the right food, to exercise instead of sitting, to get a cancer screening instead of pushing it off to next year, and to make the emotional changes necessary to leave a positive impression on the people you interact with daily.

The choice is yours. What will you choose and more importantly, why?
