Burial Space Cost Boosted 20 Percent

The cost for a burial space in Barrington is going up more than 20 percent on April 1.

The cost is being boosted to $850 from $700 by the Barrington Cemetery Commission.

Perpetual-care cost increases are driving the boost, the commission said. Higher operating expenses “have also necessitated price changes for burial services and monument foundations,” according to the cemetery commission.

New fee schedules can be seen at the Barrington Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall and on the Barrington website at www.barrington.ri.gov.
