Clients, Trainers Show Off Fitness
Fitness Together studios, including the Barrington studios, compete to demonstrate their new-found fitness.
More than 60 clients of Rhode Island’s four Fitness Together studios, including the Barrington studio, joined their trainers at India Point Park in Providence recently for a friendly competition.
In many cases, individuals performed training exercises that they wouldn’t dream were possible six months before.

Events ranged from a fiercely contended tug of war to a mile run. Competitors were placed in different divisions, men’s and women’s both under 40 and over 40, and trainers.
“It was great to see all of our clients having fun with other clients from different locations around the state,” said Matthew Gagliano, owner of the Barrington and Lincoln Studios and Rhode Island director.

“Everything went better than planned,” Gagliano said. “To see families come out to support their loved ones was terrific.”
The Providence Studio finished first in a close competition, followed by Barrington, Lincoln and East Greenwich.
“It was very rewarding to see lots of our clients who six months ago were intimidated by even the thought of exercising, now executing these movements with confidence,” said Aaron Atwood, owner of the Providence Studio. “Win or lose all of our clients were able to recognize that they are much better than they were in the past.”
"I felt like a proud parent as I watched my clients compete in the various events as they gave a 100 percent effort,” said Robin Ball, owner of the East Greenwich Fitness Together. “I especially enjoyed playing tug of war with my clients, as it brought me back to my days on the play ground. I quickly remembered how tug of war challenges the entire body."
