Compete for Town in Senior Games
The Barrington Recreation Department is looking for older athletes and teams to compete in the Rhode Island Ocean Tides Senior Games, now affiliated with town.

Represent Barrington in the Rhode Island Ocean Tides Senior Games.
The organization sponsors competitions in lifetime sports, said John Taylor, Barrington recreation director. You can compete on a team or by yourself.
The recreation department and the Barrington Senior Center are now affiliated with the senior games organization, he said.

The table is set for the following sports: bowling, both 10-pin and duckpin; table tennis; badminton; cycling; 5K road races, basketball; swimming; track and field; sailing; golf and triathlon.
“To further promote the recreation department’s goal of increased participation among the town’s residents,” he said, “the department is looking for interested athletes.”

At the same time, Taylor said: “We’re looking for interested individuals aged 40-plus to lead the effort in creating teams to represent the town of Barrington.”
The first competition for Barrington is duckpin bowling, he said. It will take place on March 27 at Dudek’s Bowling Lanes in Warren.
