Council Meets; 'Costs of War' Event

The Barrington Town Council meets at 7 pm; Brown University professor leads a talk on the cost of America's wars in the past decade.

The Barrington Town Council meets at 7 pm in the Council Chamber in Town Hall for its monthly session; the draft ordinance that bans plastic grocery bags will be introduced.

Brown University anthropology professor Catherine Lutz will lead an East Bay Citizens for Peace-sponsored discussion on “The Costs of War: Human, Economic, Social, and Political” in the Barrington library auditorium at 7 pm. The talk will focus on the 2011 Costs of War Report -- the first comprehensive analysis of a decade of wars.

The Barrington Community School offers an outdoor T'ai Chi class at Haines Memorial Park, led by Bob McManus, at 8:45 am. Classes will meet at St. John's Episcopal Church if it rains.
