Volunteers Needed for Three Boards
The deadline to apply to serve on three Barrington boards is Friday, July 20.
Three Barrington boards and commissions have vacancies. The Town Council wants you to consider volunteering to serve on one of the boards, including a brand new one.
If you are interested, you need to submit a résumé to the Town Clerk’s Office by Friday, July 20.

The Committee for Renewable Energy for Barrington (CREB) needs one member. It is charged with advising the Town Council on short and long term strategies to promote energy efficiency, thereby creating savings and reducing the environmental impact of town energy use through conservation and the use of sustainable energy resources.
The Conservation Commission also needs a member. The board reviews applications for variances or special use permits that are submitted to the Zoning Board for projects in or near wetlands and water bodies.

Discover Newport, formerly the Newport County/Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking a member to represent the Town of Barrington on its board of directors. Volunteers should be associated with the hospitality industry and employed in one of the following areas: lodging, attractions, dining, shopping, recreation, transportation or special events.
Résumé forms can be obtained through the Barrington website, at the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall, or at the library.Â
