DEFAMATION - A Play by Todd Logan

RACE, RELIGION, CLASS AND GENDER COLLIDE IN THE RIVETING COURTROOM DRAMA WHERE THE AUDIENCE IS THE JURY.

A professional African-American woman is invited to the home of a successful Jewish man for a professional business project. After the meeting, he realizes that his family heirloom watch is gone. This very dilemma leads to a riveting courtroom encounter that illuminates our common perceptions about race, religion, gender, class and the law.

More than a play, DEFAMATION is a unique opportunity for our community to engage in civil discourse about the most pressing social issues of our day.

The audience will actively participate in the jury deliberation and together will decide the outcome. Additionally, there will be a post-show discussion with the cast. DEFAMATION presents an incredible teaching and learning opportunity that is sure to stimulate ideas and discussion.

The showing will take place on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 pm at Temple Habonim, 165 New Meadow  is free and open to the community.
