“Take Six: The Big Issues of 2012” election series continues at 7 pm in the Barrington library auditorium with Rhode Island College history professor Karl Benziger, who will discuss American foreign policy and its shift over time; the session is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Son & Mother Salon, 464 Maple Ave., hosts an evening of “Bedazzled Beauty” with Barrington resident Melissa Lawrence, who will display Touchstone Crystal jewelry made in Rhode Island from 6 to 8; enjoy the jewelry and light refreshments while getting a complimentary shampoo and blow style by appointment (247-2628).

Join Margie Reed for a lively story hour and craft project for children every Thursday at Barrington Books, Barrington Shopping Plaza, at 10 am.
