Dr. Clive Bridgham to speak at U.S. Pain Awareness event
Dr. Clive Bridgham, of Barrington Chiropractic and Sports Medicine Clinic, to speak at U.S. Pain Awareness event on Sept. 19.

Dr. Clive Bridgham, a chiropractic physician at Barrington Chiropractic & Sports Medicine Clinic and former president of the Chiropractic Society of Rhode Island, will be a speaker at the 2015 U.S. Pain Foundation’s Pain Awareness Event—Opiates, Pain Reduction, Alternatives--on Saturday, September 19. The event will take place at Miriam Hospital, 164 Summit Avenue, Providence, from 2pm to 4pm, in the Hurvitz Board Conference Room.
The featured guest speaker for the event will be James P. Crowley, MD, FACP. Dr. Crowley, the retired founding director of the Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital and Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Brown University. He will provide a summary entitled, “Overview of how we got to where we are today with no effective oral opioids”.
In addition to Dr. Bridgham and Dr. Crowley, other speakers touching on alternatives will include: Simone Lukas-Jogl, PHD, Rolfing Structural Integration; Cris Monteiro, Providence Community Acupuncture; and Joanne Leppanen, president of RIPAC, Medical Marijuana.

“The sad truth about many of the addicted people we hear about today is that they turned to drugs to seek pain relief,” said Dr. Owen. “This event will provide valuable information to those who seek healthier means to pain relief.”
