Dr. Richard E. Kuhn, 90

Richard E. Kuhn, MD, passed away surrounded by his family on Feb. 19, 2013. He was 90.

Dr. Kuhn was married to the late Elaine Burgess Annable Kuhn. He was the father of the late Richard Eugene Kuhn Jr. and the late Albert K. Antonio.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Elaine Kuhn Antonio; his daughter, Denise Anne Kuhn Rochlin and her husband Robert Rochlin; his daughter Carol Anne Kuhn Ryan and her husband J. Ryan; his grandson, namesake and good friend Richard Eugene Kuhn, III, Esq; his 12 grandchildren and their spouses and his four great-grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Seton Hall College and Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Allegheny College). He served in both the Army and the Air Force, retiring with the rank of captain.

His career as a surgeon spanned more than four decades, during which time he earned numerous awards and accolades. He practiced most recently at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence.

An avid boater, he enjoyed time on the water with family and friends near his home in Barrington and around Cape Cod.

Private funeral services have been held. Arrangements were handled by the Crapo-Hathaway Home for Funerals, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton, Mass.
