[VIDEO] Eagles Thump Townies, 35-15
Barrington High overwhelms visiting East Providence Saturday afternoon in a delayed Homecoming contest at Victory Field. A couple of video highlights.
On a gray, misting Saturday afternoon, Sept. 29, after a rainy Friday that postponed the game by a day, Barrington High School thumped East Providence, 35-15.
Quarterback Jacob Simmons ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more, both to John Sheehan. Ethan Snow blocked a punt in the end zone for a score.
The win evened the Eagles' record at 2-2 on the season -- 2-1 in Division I of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.

The game was Homecoming for Barrington, although the schedule of activities was scuttled by Friday's rain. A few floats circled the field before the game, but the Homecoming court was not announced and won't be until next Friday's game, said George Finn, athletics director.
Barrington jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the half and never looked back. East Providence cut a 21-point deficit to 14 with a third-quarter TD.
