Barrington Firm Earns 'Green' Award
Lawrence Air Systems honored for the HVAC work it does throughout the region.

A Barrington-based firm has received an energy efficiency award for the air conditioning equipment it installs through Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts.
Lawrence Air Systems received a COOL SMART award at the annual Air Conditioning Contractors of America golf tournament last month in Stow, Mass. Aaron Lawrence, a Barrington native who now lives in North Smithfield, accepted the honor on behalf of the company.
Lawrence and six other companies that specialize in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) were honored during a luncheon after the golf tournament. Nearly 150 HVAC contractors throughout the region participated in the event.

“Lawrence Air Systems, along with these six other companies, represent the best of the best trade pros in the region,” said Dick Moran, NSTAR’s residential program manager. “We’re confident they’ll continue their ongoing efforts to reduce pollution, harmful greenhouse gas emissions and energy use through quality installation of high efficiency air conditioning equipment. We hope other HVAC contractors will follow their lead.”
Launched in 2004, COOL SMART is a rebate program for Massachusetts and Rhode Island residential customers of National Grid, NSTAR Electric, Western Massachusetts Electric Co., Unitil and Cape Light Compact.
