'Lemonade Mouth' Author Mixes with Kids

Mark Peter Hughes returns to visit his parents on New Meadow Road quite often.
The author of the children's book, "Lemonade Mouth," made into a hit Disney Channel movie, combined business with pleasure on his latest trip to Barrington last Thursday, July 21.
Hughes, who grew up in Barrington, returned for the first of a series of Summer Reading Book Club Nights sponsored by Barrington Books. The nights are part of the bookstore's summer reading challenge.

Any child who reads 10 books by August 27 – when the competition ends -- will get a free book.
Hughes led an interactive talk about the book, answered questions about what’s involved when a novel goes from the page to the screen, and signed a few books along the way as well.
