Local Sports Writer to be Honored

Award-winning sports writer and columnist William “Bill’ Reynolds of Barrington will be honored tonight at St. Andrew’s School’s annual “Night of Shining Stars” – a fundraiser for the private school in Barrington.

Reynolds is one of three Rhode Island residents to be recognized tonight for their efforts to change the lives and give opportunities to children, according to eastbayri.com. Reynolds is a writer for the Providence Journal and the author of several best-selling books, including Fall River Dreams, Rise of a Dynasty, Cousy and Success is a Choice.

Reynold's writing has concentrated on people who have taken sports and used it as an outlet to turn their lives around, according to eastbayri.com. His writing has been described as educating the public on the influence sports may have on the development of children.
